Based in Charlotte, NC, Lauren Hummel is an award-winning freelance artist recognized for her distinctive style and voice as both a Choreographer and Dancer. Originally from New York, she trained extensively in all styles of dance and spent 15 years performing as a competitive and convention dancer. Lauren is widely known for her work in Contemporary Dance and travels nationwide to share her passion, artistry, and expertise with young dancers. With more than six years of experience teaching and choreographing for students of all ages, she has become a sought-after mentor for emerging artists.
Lauren holds a BS in Business Administration with a Minor in Dance from SUNY Geneseo, where she continued her performance training for an additional four years and worked with numerous guest artists, including Jon Lehrer. She currently serves on faculty with Quest Intensive as a Choreographer and Director, and works as an Adjudicator, Regional Director, and Teacher for Encore DCS.
Her choreography has earned multiple Industry Dance Award nominations and has been featured on film and stages across the country. Lauren’s work consistently garners top recognitions such as Choreography awards, “Best in Studio,” and “Best in Category” honors at regional and national events, including recent accolades from Revel Dance Convention, NUVO, JUMP, and Hall of Fame Dance Challenge.
